Reason
BNP Paribas analyst Max Gumport lowered the firm's price target on Flowers Foods to $8 from $10 and keeps an Underperform rating on the shares. U.S. packaged food valuations "look cheap relative to history," but the firm believes they are "cheap for a reason" and it lowered targets for several companies in the group to account for volume growth that "looks to be muted at best" and pricing power that "could be somewhat illusory."

Deutsche Bank lowered the firm's price target on Flowers Foods to $7 from $11 and keeps a Hold rating on the shares. The firm sees "legitimate and widespread pressures building" across much of the consumer packaged goods industry due to the conflict in the Middle East. The stocks underperformed in March on cost inflation concerns, potential demand destruction from trade-down, and adverse currency moves, the analyst tells investors in a research note.
