Should l Buy AMZN?
Wedbush notes that The Information reported that OpenAI is scaling back its plan to introduce shopping directly inside ChatGPT and will pivot towards having checkouts take place inside of apps that plug into the platform. This reported pivot is a "net positive" for retailers, marketplaces, and intermediaries that have been under pressure as a result of investor concern around AI-enabled disintermediation on the sector, says the analyst, who lists Amazon (AMZN), MercadoLibre (MELI), Xometry (XMTR), DoorDash (DASH), Airbnb (ABNB), Shopify (SHOP), Booking Holdings (BKNG) and Carvana (CVNA) as "resilient leaders" with business models that are most defensible against replacement or AI disintermediation.
