CME Group Sues CFTC and Chairman Michael Selig
CME Group sued the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and its Chairman Michael Selig over the regulator allowing perpetual futures tied to the price of cryptocurrencies, Katherine Doherty and Nicola White of Bloomberg report. The lawsuit, filed today in the federal court in Washington, comes after Kalshi received approval from the CFTC to offer perpetual futures. CME argues the CFTC's approval wasn't done with formal rulemaking, as inconsistent with congressional directives, Bloomberg notes.
