Its site is 3 miles (4.8 kilometers) from the Nevada border and approximately 6 miles (9.7 kilometers) west of McDermitt, Nevada. It also develops small, long life (SLLIM) and very small, long life (VSLLIM) modular nuclear reactors. Its VSLLIM serves remote communities, defense applications, and mining sites.
