House Judiciary Committee Subpoenas Eight Health Insurers
House Judiciary Committee Republicans have subpoenaed eight ACA health insurers as part of an expanding investigation into potential fraud tied to premium subsidies in the individual market, Maya Goldman of Axios reports. The probe continues despite enhanced premium tax credits expiring January 1, increasing pressure on the broader health insurance industry. House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan issued subpoenas to Elevance (ELV), CVS (CVS), Centene (CNC), GuideWell, Oscar Health (OSCR), Kaiser Permanente, Health Care Service Corporation and Blue Shield of California, according to the report. Other publicly traded companies in the space include Cigna (CI), Humana (HUM), Molina Healthcare (MOH) and UnitedHealth (UNH). CVS told Axios that it has received the letter and is cooperating.
