Akebia Therapeutics, Inc. is a fully integrated biopharmaceutical company with two commercial products for patients impacted by kidney disease. The Company's portfolio includes Vafseo and Auryxia. Vafseo is an orally administered medicine, approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), for the treatment of anemia due to chronic kidney disease (CKD) in adult patients on dialysis for at least three months. Auryxia (ferric citrate) is an orally administered medicine approved and marketed in the United States for two indications: the control of serum phosphorus levels in adult patients with dialysis dependent chronic kidney disease (DD-CKD), and the treatment of iron deficiency anemia (IDA) in adult patients with non-dialysis-dependent chronic kidney disease (NDD-CKD).
