IEA Decides to Release 400 Million Barrels of Oil to Market
The IEA stated: "The 32 Member countries of the International Energy Agency unanimously agreed today to make 400 million barrels of oil from their emergency reserves available to the market to address disruptions in oil markets stemming from the war in the Middle East. The decision to take emergency collective action was made following an extraordinary meeting of IEA Member governments yesterday, convened by the IEA Executive Director to assess market conditions amid the conflict in the Middle East and consider the options to address supply disruptions."

U.S. International Development Finance Corporation Launches Maritime Reinsurance Plan
U.S. International Development Finance Corporation CEO Ben Black and U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced agreement on a detailed implementation plan approved by President Trump to deploy Maritime Reinsurance, including war risk, in the Gulf region. "In close coordination with CENTCOM, this plan will restore confidence in maritime trade, help stabilize international commerce, and support American and allied businesses operating in the Middle East during the conflict with Iran. This announcement marks a key milestone toward the rapid implementation of President Trump's directive to utilize DFC's innovative financial toolkit to safeguard the continued flow of trade," the DFC stated. Publicly traded oil production companies include BP (BP), Chevron (CVX), ConocoPhillips (COP), Exxon Mobil (XOM), Shell (SHEL) and TotalEnergies (TTE).

U.S. Development Finance Corporation Launches $20B Reinsurance Facility
U.S. Development Finance Corporation chief executive Ben Black and Treasury secretary Scott Bessent will on Friday unveil that the DFC is creating a $20B reinsurance facility to restart maritime cargo and oil commerce stalled by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz following the American and Israeli strikes on Iran, reported Financial Times, which quotes Black as having said the facility would "restore confidence in maritime trade and stabilize international markets". Publicly traded oil producers include BP (BP), Chevron (CVX), ConocoPhillips (COP), Exxon Mobil (XOM), Shell (SHEL) and TotalEnergies (TTE).
