Match Group CEO Spencer Rascoff's "primary focus" is winning over women, hoping this will arrest years of falling numbers and turn around Tinder's trajectory, Kieran Smith of The Financial Times reports. "Winning women is critical to us," Rascoff told the FT. "(Achieving) gender parity is very challenging, but we absolutely need to do a better job of driving outcomes for women and when we do that, more women will choose to use our apps." While Match Group does not release data on the gender breakdown of users on its apps, Sensor Tower estimates about 75% of users on Tinder are men.

The Federal Trade Commission is taking action against OkCupid and its affiliate Match Group Americas over allegations OkCupid deceived users of its dating app by sharing their personal information, including photos and location information, with an unrelated third party, contrary to OkCupid's privacy promises, the agency announced. As part of a settlement, OkCupid, operated by Dallas-based Humor Rainbow, Inc., and Match Group Americas, which provides services for Humor Rainbow, will be prohibited from misrepresenting its privacy policies and could face monetary penalties for any future violations, the FTC stated.
