The Nevada Gaming Control Board reports January Las Vegas Strip gaming win down 11% to $747.66M versus last year. Boyd Gaming Corporation (BYD) entered into a definitive agreement to sell Sam's Town Hotel & Casino in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Bally's Corporation (BALY). Located adjacent to Bally's Shreveport Casino & Hotel in downtown Shreveport, Sam's Town Shreveport features a 29,000-square-foot casino with 750 slot machines and 14 table games, a 514-room hotel, multiple restaurants, a live entertainment venue, and convention and meeting space. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions and the receipt of required regulatory approvals. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Kyle Langford, a Republican candidate for governor in California, has been fined $2,246.36 by Kalshi for violating its rules for making prediction-market wages on its platform, Krystal Hur of The Wall Street Journal reports. Langford was fined and banned from using the platform for five years after betting on his own victory for California governor. The platform prohibits candidates in a political race from betting in markets related to their own elections. Artem Kaptur, a video editor for YouTube streamer MrBeast, has similarly been fined $20,397.58 due to trading on markets tied to MrBeast's videos. Boyd Gaming has increased the company's quarterly dividend to 20c per share, up from the prior quarterly dividend of 18c per share. The dividend is payable April 15 to shareholders of record at the close of business on March 16.
