Reason
BofA analyst Lorraine Hutchinson lowered the firm's price target on American Eagle to $16 from $20 and keeps an Underperform rating on the shares. Higher investments mean stronger comp guidance failed to translate into an operating profit increase for FY26, notes the analyst, who is lowering the firm's FY26 and FY27 EPS estimates by 4% and 13%, respectively. The firm thinks a deeper discount to the historical average is warranted given struggles at the American Eagle flagship brand.
