LibertyStream's Lithium Refining Unit: LibertyStream Infrastructure Partners is progressing with the installation of its lithium carbonate refining unit in Texas, aiming to scale domestic lithium production and support future battery cell manufacturing.
Grant from North Dakota: The company, in partnership with Wellspring Hydro, has received a US$500,000 grant from North Dakota to enhance in-state lithium carbonate production, reinforcing its commitment to a vertically integrated supply chain.
Production Capabilities: Once operational, the refining unit is expected to produce up to 10 tonnes per annum of lithium carbonate, meeting specifications for both industrial and battery-grade applications, with bulk samples available for prospective customers.
Collaboration for Validation: The grant will facilitate the validation of battery-grade lithium carbonate in collaboration with the University of North Dakota and cathode cell manufacturers, aiming to establish a comprehensive lithium ecosystem in the state.
