A group of approximately 20 lenders is providing a roughly $18B project finance loan to help fund the building of a data center campus linked to Oracle (ORCL), marking the most recent massive debt deal to help fund the AI boom, Bloomberg's Paula Seligson, Jeannine Amodeo, and Laura Benitez report. Sumitomo Mitsui (SMFG), BNP Paribas (BNPQY), Goldman Sachs (GS), and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial (MUFG) are administrative agents on the loan, the authors say, citing people with knowledge of the matter. The group has brought other banks into the fold, and will now sell the debt to additional firms and institutional investors in a retail syndication, with commitments due later this month, the authors note.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM) and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) are leading an approximately $38B debt package to fund data centers connected to Oracle (ORCL) in Wisconsin and Texas, Bloomberg's Scott Carpenter, Jeannine Amodeo, and Brody Ford report, citing people familiar with the matter. Several banks had already committed to financing a $23B loan for the campus in Shackelford County, Texas. That loan is part of the broader debt deal, the authors note.

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) announces the appointment of John Clements as Managing Director, Head of CLO. John will lead the origination, structuring and syndication efforts across the broadly syndicated, middle market, private credit, and infrastructure CLO platforms. Based in New York, John will report to Ann Tran, Managing Director, International Head of Securitized Products. Prior to joining MUFG, John was Managing Director, Head of CLO Primary at Barclays (BCS) since 2018.
