Tony Smurfit, President and CEO, commented: "Against the backdrop of continued macro uncertainty we have delivered a solid first quarter performance, generating an Adjusted EBITDA of $1,076 million. Our Net Income and Adjusted EBITDA for the first quarter were negatively impacted by $65 million due to adverse weather events, primarily in our North American business."
