Visteon (VC) introduced D6Sigma, a new edge AI product line for industrial automation developed in close collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies (QCOM). Built on Visteon's CognitoAI-IoT platform and Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ9 Series processors, the product line brings real-time intelligence to the production line turning multiple camera streams into actionable operational events. Inside Visteon's own plants, it is already running a proven set of use cases, including vision-based quality inspection, real-time line monitoring, and worker safety. This foundation helps manufacturers move from isolated AI use cases to scalable industrial solutions.

Qualcomm Technologies announced at Augmented World Expo the Snapdragon Reality Elite Platform, designed to power immersive spatial computing experiences across a spectrum of form factors. It will power high-performance all-in-one video-see-through headsets and lightweight tethered optical-see-through, the company stated. "XR adoption continues to expand, with more than 60 million devices2 already in market and growing momentum across industries. As more advanced and integrated XR platforms are developed, demand is increasing for XR technologies that deliver higher performance, greater intelligence, and improved power efficiency. Snapdragon Reality Elite is designed to meet those demands with powerful on-device AI, enabling faster, longer-lasting, and more immersive experiences, and reinforcing our leadership in VR and MR as we build purpose-built XR chipsets from the ground up," said Ziad Asghar, Senior Vice President and General Manager of XR, Wearables and Personal AI.

Qualcomm is in discussions to acquire AI chip design startup Tenstorrent for $8B-$10B, The Information's Stephanie Palazzolo and Valida Pau report, citing a person with direct knowledge of the deal. Such a deal price would be a significant premium to the startup's last valuation, the authors note.
