Nexa Resources (NEXA), in response to the announcement issued by Boliden AB (BDNNY) earlier Thursday, confirmed that it is aware of ongoing negotiations between Votorantim S.A. and Boliden regarding VSA's interest in the company and expects to be in discussions with Boliden regarding a potential transaction impacting the company. "While these discussions are ongoing, there can be no certainty or assurances as to whether an agreement for a transaction will be reached or as to the terms or timing of any such transaction," Nexa said. "The company does not intend to make any additional comments regarding this matter unless and until it is determined that additional disclosure is appropriate or necessary."

Boliden (BDNNY) issued the following statement: "Boliden has become aware of speculation related to a potential acquisition of shares in Nexa Resources. Boliden confirms that it is in discussions with Nexa Resources and Votorantim, majority owner of Nexa Resources, regarding a potential acquisition of Votorantim's shares in Nexa Resources. There is no certainty that any transaction will take place, nor what the terms of any such transaction would be. Further announcements will be made if and when appropriate."
