Germany Plans to Expand Defense Cooperation with Israel, Procurement Package Worth Up to €6B
Germany intends to expand defense cooperation with Israel with a procurement package for NATO forces worth up to EUR6B for up to 500 multiple-rocket launchers and thousands of missiles, Bloomberg's Michael Nienaber reported last week. The European country's Defense Ministry negotiating with Israeli contractor Elbit Systems, Franco-German manufacturer KNDS NV, and German's Diehl for the fixed purchase 250 MARS 3 launchers for its own military as well as an option for an extra 250 units for other European governments on the same terms, people familiar with the planning told Bloomberg.
