About NHI
National Health Investors, Inc. is a real estate investment trust. The Company specializes in sales, leasebacks, joint-ventures, senior housing operating partnerships, and mortgage and mezzanine financing of need-driven and discretionary senior housing and medical investments. It operates through two segments: Real Estate Investments and Senior Housing Operating Portfolio (SHOP). The Real Estate Investments segment consists of real estate investments, leases, and mortgage and other notes receivables in independent living facilities, assisted living facilities, entrance-fee communities, senior living campuses, skilled nursing facilities and a hospital. It has over 176 healthcare real estate properties located in 32 states and leased primarily pursuant to triple-net leases to 31 tenants. The SHOP segment consists of two ventures that own the operations of independent living facilities. This segment has over 26 senior housing communities located in 13 states with a combined 3,009 units.
