1&1 Set to Purchase 1&1 Versatel from United Internet
Acquisition Announcement: 1&1 AG has signed an agreement to acquire 1&1 Versatel GmbH from United Internet AG for approximately 1.3 billion euros, which includes taking over all assets and debts of Versatel.
Financial Details: The acquisition involves a loan liability of about 950 million euros, which will be secured by a guarantee from 1&1, and the purchase price may adjust by up to 300 million euros based on Versatel's future business results in 2027-2029.
Versatel's Operations: Versatel specializes in fiber optic connections and operates a network of approximately 67,000 kilometers, serving over 350 cities, and provides essential services for 1&1's broadband and mobile network operations.
Collaboration with Other Providers: Versatel collaborates with city network operators and Deutsche Telekom to deliver broadband connections and supports 1&1's IPTV and VoIP platforms, as well as the operation of multiple data centers.
