Trump Administration Seeks Auto Makers' Involvement in Weapons Production
The Trump administration is seeking to have car makers and other major American manufacturers play a larger role in making weapons, similar to a practice used during World War II, the Wall Street Journal's Sharon Terlep and Marcus Weisgerber report. Senior defense officials have held discussions about making weapons and other military supplies with top executives of several companies, including General Motors (GM) CEO Mary Barra and Ford (F) CEO Jim Farley, the authors say, citing people familiar with the talks.
