GrafTech Announces Price Increase of $600 to $1,200 for Graphite Electrodes
GrafTech International announced it has informed customers that graphite electrode prices will increase by a minimum of $600 to $1,200 per metric ton, depending on region, effective immediately on uncommitted volume. Over the past three years, market prices for graphite electrodes have declined significantly in each of our key regions and remain below sustainable levels necessary to support continued investment and reliable long-term supply for our customers. In addition, current geopolitical developments are driving increases in our key input costs, including oil-based raw materials, energy and logistics. GrafTech has executed a number of strategic initiatives to structurally improve our cost position and operational efficiency. Despite these efforts, our pricing needs to improve. This price increase by GrafTech represents a necessary step to restore pricing on GrafTech's products to levels that we expect will safeguard our regional graphite electrode production and continuity of supply for our customers.

GrafTech Files Petition for Investigation into Chinese and Indian Graphite Electrode Dumping
GrafTech announced that it has filed a petition with the Department of Trade Defense, or DECOM, of the Foreign Trade Secretariat, part of Brazil's Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services, requesting an investigation into whether graphite electrodes from China and India are being exported to Brazil at unfair prices. In response to the petition, on March 11, DECOM announced the initiation of an investigation to determine the existence of dumping of graphite electrode exports from China and India into Brazil. In initiating the Investigation, DECOM made a preliminary assessment that the dumping margins for graphite electrode exports from China and India are 54.9% and 57.3%, respectively. Based on this assessment, DECOM concluded that there is sufficient evidence of dumping to warrant further investigation. The scope of the investigation covers graphite electrodes with diameters greater than or equal to 350 millimeters, as requested in the petition. According to the World Steel Association, crude steel production in Brazil was approximately 33.3M tons in 2025, making Brazil the ninth-largest steel-producing country globally and underscoring the importance of Brazil for the graphite electrode industry.
