Westport Fuel Systems announces the commencement of production at its expanded product development and manufacturing facility in Cambridge, Ontario and its new China Hydrogen Innovation Center and Manufacturing facility in Changzhou, China. Initial products were shipped to customers in December 2025, with both facilities continuing to ramp up capacity through the first quarter of 2026.

Westport announced changes to its board of directors. Chair Dan Hancock, appointed to the board in July 2017, retired from the board, effective December 31, 2025, with current director Tony Guglielmin assuming the role of chair. Joining Westport's board of directors, effective January 1, is Brad Kotush.

Westport (WPRT) announced that Cespira, Westport's joint venture with the Volvo Group (VLVLY), has signed an agreement with and received full payment from an OEM for Cespira's HPDITM components to be utilized in a customer truck trial. Cespira will deliver several hundred sets of a key component in support of the trial. The truck trial is designed to assess the market interest and viability of the direct injection system in certain heavy-duty trucking markets and is expected to form the basis upon which the OEM will determine whether to make a further investment to commercialize this system. Further information regarding the trial is not disclosed for commercially sensitive reasons.

Westport announced the resignation of its CFO William Larkin and the appointment of Elizabeth Owens as his successor. Larkin will step down in his capacity as CFO effective immediately and remain in an advisory capacity through September 15. Owens has been with Westport for 10 years, most recently as VP, finance and tax.
