Virtuix announced a collaboration with the University of Central Florida's Institute for Simulation & Training to demonstrate a humanoid robot steered in real time using Virtuix's Omni One omni-directional treadmill. The collaboration shows how the Omni's 360-degree movement platform can help address a key limitation in humanoid robot teleoperation by allowing a human operator to walk and move naturally in any direction without boundaries while the robot mirrors that movement. In the collaboration, the Omni One operator experiences the robot's point of view through "vDen," a stereoscopic "CAVE-like" projection system that fully surrounds the operator with a visual environment and does not require a head-mounted display. The vDen system enhances operator comfort and makes it easier to reference physical objects in their environment and collaborate side-by-side with other users - advantages that are particularly valuable in defense, research, and industrial applications.

Virtuix (VTIX) has joined the Made for Meta program of Meta Platforms (META). Through the program, Virtuix plans to make its "Omni One" 360-degree treadmill compatible with Meta Quest headsets and games, broadening Omni One's reach to the world's largest XR user base.

Virtuix announced the expansion of Omni One sales to Europe, marking a significant milestone in the company's international growth. European customers can now place orders across major markets including Germany, United Kingdom, France, and additional EU countries through Virtuix's dedicated EU and UK storefronts, with initial shipments scheduled to begin between April 13 and April 24. The European rollout introduces Omni One Core, Virtuix's PC-connected consumer system designed for SteamVR gaming. Omni One Core delivers true 360-degree physical movement, enabling players to walk, run, crouch, strafe, and move naturally inside virtual worlds using their existing PC VR headsets. Pricing for Omni One Core is EUR 2,995 in EU countries and GBP 2,795 in UK. Virtuix's European expansion is supported by a regional partnership with Unbound XR. Unbound XR will manage local fulfillment and logistics across the EU and UK, ensuring a seamless customer experience from purchase through delivery.

Virtuix highlighted the integration of AI-driven Gaussian splatting technology into its Virtual Terrain Walk system for training and simulation in the defense industry. "Creating realistic virtual environments has historically been a slow and labor-intensive process," said Jan Goetgeluk, Chief Executive Officer of Virtuix. "By integrating AI-driven Gaussian splatting into Virtual Terrain Walk, we can now scan real-world locations and quickly turn them into photorealistic virtual spaces that our warfighters can physically explore. This capability meaningfully enhances warfighters' readiness through immersive simulation."
