Solidion announced the grant of a series of key patents covering its proprietary liquid-to-solid electrolyte conversion platform - a technology that enables existing lithium-ion battery manufacturers to produce solid-state batteries without new equipment or process investment - adding to the company's portfolio of over 345 patents. The technology invented includes using any current lithium-ion cell manufacturing facility to produce dry battery cells, injecting a proprietary liquid electrolyte into the dry cells, and then converting the liquid electrolyte inside the cells into a semi-solid or solid electrolyte, thereby reducing or eliminating flammability.

Solidion Technology (STI) entered into a binding agreement with the IP Services Practice of Hilco Global (IX) to monetize its foundational energy portfolio and enforce its patent rights. Hilco has analyzed the Solidion patent portfolio to identify high value assets and the patent data suggest that a significant number of global companies will likely require a license to the Solidion portfolio. In the energy storage segment in particular, virtually all the major players in the industry have technology that overlaps with the Solidion portfolio and the same appears to be true in semiconductors, consumer electronics and aerospace.

Solidion announced that it has entered into a non-binding memorandum of understanding with an entity that manufactures and distributes energy storage systems to supply pouch cells for use in energy storage systems. While the MOU is non-binding in nature and may result in no actual sales, the agreement could potentially add an estimated $4M to $6M in revenue over the next 12 months.
