La-Z-Boy Reports Earnings Beat but Stock Drops 7.3%
  • Sales and Earnings Beat: La-Z-Boy's fiscal Q3 2026 report revealed an actual EPS of $0.61 and sales of $541.6 million, surpassing analyst expectations of $0.59 and $535.4 million; however, the stock still dropped 7.3%, indicating a negative market reaction.
  • Retail vs. Wholesale Performance: While overall sales grew 4% year-over-year, retail sales surged 11%, but wholesale only increased by 1%, suggesting that La-Z-Boy's strong retail performance could not offset the weakness in wholesale, impacting overall profitability.

La-Z-Boy Reports 4% Sales Growth in Q3 Amid Mixed Earnings

  • Profit Decline Impact: Despite the sales beat, per-share profits fell 10% to $0.61, down from $0.68 a year ago, and the company's conservative guidance for Q4 led to a lackluster performance in after-hours trading, reflecting market caution regarding future earnings.

The firm sees a buying opportunity for \"patient investors\" into this \"high-quality businesses\" following the recent share pullback. La-Z-Boy offers \"significant upside potential\" over a two- to three-year time horizon, and investors should add positions, the analyst tells investors in a research note.
