The Fund’s investment objective is to maximize income exempt from federal income tax to the extent consistent with the preservation of capital. BNY Mellon Investment Adviser, Inc. (the Adviser) serves as the fund’s investment adviser. Under normal market conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in municipal obligations. Generally, the fund invests at least 50% of its net assets in municipal bonds considered investment grade or the unrated equivalent as determined by BNY Mellon Investment Adviser, Inc. in the case of bonds, and in the two categories or the unrated equivalent as determined by the Adviser in the case of short-term obligations having or deemed to have maturities of less than one year. BNY Mellon Investment Adviser, Inc. serves as investment adviser of the Fund.
