China lifts export restrictions on gallium and germanium, according to NY Times.
China is suspending export restrictions for a year on five critical minerals to the U.S., including gallium and germanium, used to make certain types of semiconductors, The New York Times' Keith Bradsher reports. Publicly traded companies in the semiconductor space include AMD (AMD), Intel (INTC), Marvell (MRVL), Microchip (MCHP), Micron (MU), Nvidia (NVDA), Qualcomm (QCOM) and Texas Instruments (TXN). Publicly traded companies involved in the production of raw gallium include Rio Tinto (RIO), Alcoa (AA), Navitas Semiconductor (NVTS), and Infineon (IFNNY), while Teck Resources (TECK) is a publicly traded germanium producer.
