Dare Bioscience announced that providers in select states can now begin prescribing DARE to PLAY Sildenafil Cream, a proprietary topical arousal cream designed specifically for women to enhance genital blood flow and arousal response. "When Viagra was approved in 1998, it revolutionized sexual medicine for men. But for women, comparable progress on enhancing the natural arousal sensations has stalled for nearly three decades," said Sabrina Martucci Johnson, President and CEO of Dare Bioscience. Dare Bioscience (DARE) announced that all rights to Ovaprene, the company's first-in-category, investigational, hormone-free monthly intravaginal contraceptive, will be returned to Dare by Bayer HealthCare (BAYRY) as a result of Bayer electing to terminate the license agreement between the parties as part of a strategic prioritization. In accordance with the license agreement, the termination will be effective in February 2026. With the Phase 3 program advancing with non-dilutive grant support, the return of rights will provide Dare with full control of a late-stage asset that is differentiated in a large market with significant unmet need.

Dare Bioscience received an approximately $3.6 million payment under an existing grant agreement with the Gates Foundation. This new tranche will primarily support ongoing activities to aid in the identification and development of a novel non-hormonal intravaginal contraceptive, suitable for and acceptable to women in low- and middle-income country settings who need or would prefer to use such a product to avoid an unplanned pregnancy. This payment represents the next tranche under the up to approximately $10.7 million grant agreement originally announced in November 2024 and reflects Dare's continued achievement of key development and reporting milestones.
