CME Restores Futures Trading After Outage; Nasdaq Declines Over 2% in November
Stock index futures were disrupted in early pre-market trading due to an outage on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, but CME reopened its Globex futures and options markets at 8:30 ET ahead of the holiday shortened session. U.S. stock markets closed at 1 pm ET and bond markets close at 2 pm ET.After the early hiccup, stocks traded higher on the final session of November, but with trading volumes well below average. For the month, though, the Nasdaq lost more than 2%, breaking a seven-month winning streak largely due to early-month weakness that stemmed from concerns over stretched AI valuations.Get caught up quickly on the top news and calls moving stocks with this market wrap Fly By.STOCK NEWS:Trading of futures and options on the CMEweredue to a cooling issue at a CyrusOne data centerAlibabalaunched itsseries in ChinaSEC probing probing Jefferiesrelationship with bankrupt auto parts maker First Brands Group,EU antitrust regulators are set to examine if Apple'sApple Ads and Apple Maps should be subject to the requirements of the bloc's Digital Markets Act,WALL STREET CALLS:DeutscheAB InBev (BUD), upgraded Heinekenas the firm adjusted ratings in the European beverages group as part of its 2026 outlookJPMorganCNH Industrialto Underweight based on the agricultural equipment industry outlook for FY26 given by DeereUBS raised the firm's price target on Five Belowto $204 from $184 and keeps a Buy rating on the sharesCiti lowered the firm's price target on Flutter Entertainmentand kept a Buy rating on the shares, that the UK tax risk has been a "significant overhang" on the equity for nearly four monthsAROUND THE WEB:ServiceNowis in advanced talks to buy security startup Veza for more than $1B,Banco Santanderis set to receive European regulatory approval to hold less capital for risks at their insurance businesses,Getty ImagesCEO Craig Peters said the company may reconsider the extent of its business in the UK if the Competition and Markets Authority blocks its potential takeover of Shutterstock,China's Baidubegan layoffs this week that will impact multiple business divisions, which comes as the company faces increasing competition in artificial intelligence and declining advertising revenue,MOVERS:CMB.Techgained in New York after Paretothe stock to BuyInteladvanced after notedthe company expects to begin shipping Apple'slowest-end M processor as early as 2027Li Autoslipped in New York after Citiits price target on the stockNutanixslid after Goldman Sachsits price target on the stockINDEXES:The Dow rose 289.30, or 0.61%, to 47,716.42, the Nasdaq gained 151.00, or 0.65%, to 23,365.69, and the S&P 500 advanced 36.48, or 0.54%, to 6,849.09.
