The Fund seeks long-term capital appreciation through investment in equity or equity-linked securities of issuers domiciled in Central and Eastern Europe. Under normal circumstances, the Fund invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus borrowings used for investment purposes) in securities of issuers domiciled in Central and Eastern Europe. The Fund invests in various sectors, such as banks; diversified telecommunication services; electric utilities; food and staples retailing; metals and mining; oil, gas, and consumable fuels; wireless telecommunication services; insurance; media; airlines, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals; entertainment; interactive media and services, information technology (IT) services; insurance, and textiles, apparel, beverages, and luxury goods. DWS International GmbH is the investment advisor of the Fund.
