Baker Hughes reports that the U.S. rig count is up 4 from last week to 562 with oil rigs up 4 to 429, gas rigs unchanged at 125 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 8. The U.S. Rig Count is down 1 rig from last year's count of 563 with oil rigs down 22, gas rigs up 16 and miscellaneous rigs up 5. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is down 1 to 18, up 5 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is up 24 from last week to 162 with oil rigs up 22 to 109, gas rigs up 5 to 53 and miscellaneous rigs down 3 to 0. The Canada Rig Count is up 50 from last year's count of 112 with oil rigs up 40, gas rigs up 10 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.

Baker Hughes reports U.S. rig count up 4 to 562 rigs

Baker Hughes (BKR) announced Thursday two contract extensions with Equinor (EQNR) to provide integrated drilling and well services solutions, as well as wireline intervention services. These multi-year extensions will support Equinor's offshore hydrocarbon production goals in the North Sea. Under the integrated drilling and well services contract, Baker Hughes will deploy holistic solutions for projects in both mature and greenfield developments. Under the intervention contract, Baker Hughes will provide fully integrated intervention services that combine its suite of surface and downhole solutions with complementary technologies from service partners to extend the life and performance of offshore wells in the North Sea. The contract extension will expand the scope of service delivery of the Baker Hughes technology portfolio centered around the PRIME Technology Platform.

Baker Hughes (BKR) announced Tuesday a major contract extension with Petrobras (PBR) to provide integrated solutions for well construction across Brazil's Santos Basin. Baker Hughes will expand the company's well construction operations in several of the basin's oilfields. The company's advanced portfolio will be deployed across the construction portfolio of deepwater wells, enabling efficient access to subsurface reservoirs and supporting the ongoing development of Brazil's pre-salt oil & gas resources.
