Bell Canada Partners on Major AI Infrastructure Deal
Bell Canada (BCE), Cohere, Hypertec and BUZZ High Performance Computing (HIVE) announced a major AI infrastructure deal, marking a significant step forward in the development and deployment of advanced AI workloads on sovereign Canadian infrastructure. The collaboration brings together Bell AI Fabric's data centre and connectivity foundation, Cohere's secure enterprise-grade AI solutions and large language model capabilities, and BUZZ HPC's scalable accelerated computing infrastructure, powered by NVIDIA's DSX AI factory platform and built on hardware manufactured in Canada by Hypertec. Together, the four companies will build the conditions needed to conduct the critical R&D needed for AI models - using Canadian infrastructure, with Canadian partners - reinforcing Canada's digital sovereignty and economic resilience. Under the agreement, which builds on previously announced partnerships, Bell will provide data centre capacity and connectivity services from its Merritt, British Columbia facility, purpose-built for advanced AI workloads. BUZZ HPC will deliver the AI-native cloud layer using Hypertec's Canadian-built hardware cluster and NVIDIA accelerated computing to support production-grade AI workloads, while Cohere will use the platform to operate its foundation models and support secure enterprise-grade AI solutions for government and enterprise customers.

Bell Canada Partners with Bird Construction for 300 MW Data Center Development
Bell Canada announced the next set of development and construction partners for Bell AI Fabric's 300 MW data centre in the Rural Municipality of Sherwood, Saskatchewan, and formalized a long-term partnership with Bird Construction to support a multi-year, Canada-wide AI data centre buildout. The Sherwood facility will provide capacity to customers Cerebras and CoreWeave, with the first phase expected to come online in the first half of 2027. Bird Construction has been selected as the lead construction partner for the Sherwood facility. Alton Tangedal Architect, based in Regina, has been appointed Architect of Record, while George Gordon Developments will aim to maximize business opportunities throughout the build, beginning with the delivery of site services. The Sherwood facility is the first project under a long-term strategic partnership between Bell and Bird. Under the agreement, Bird will serve as Bell's preferred construction partner, and the two have established a basis from which to collaborate on potential future AI data centre projects supporting Bell AI Fabric's nationwide buildout.

Bell Reports Q1 Revenue of $6.17B
Reports Q1 revenue $6.17B, consensus $6.09B. The company said, "Bell's Q1 results demonstrate solid execution across our four strategic priorities in a competitive environment. Fibre continues to be a key growth driver. In Canada, we added close to 43,000 residential fibre subscribers, and combined with the contribution from Ziply Fiber, total residential fibre net subscriber additions were close to 50,000 with Internet revenue growing nearly 15% year over year. Crave had its most watched quarter in its history with subscribers up 25% year over year to 4.74 million. Bell Media digital revenues grew 8% year over year, driven by Crave and sports direct-to-consumer streaming subscriber growth. Last year, we outlined our strategy for AI-powered enterprise solutions and introduced three businesses - Ateko, Bell Cyber and Bell AI Fabric. Since then, we've made big strides, reflecting Bell's unique position in the Canadian market that intersects connectivity, deep relationships with Canada's biggest enterprises and now purpose-built AI infrastructure. For the first time, we're disclosing revenue for Bell Business Markets, which was up 9.7%, driven by 113% growth in AI-powered solutions revenue. In addition to executing on our four strategic priorities, we've been making progress on our capital allocation and capital investment plans to simplify the business, strengthen the balance sheet and focus capital on higher-return opportunities. We will continue to execute on our plan as outlined at Investor Day 2025 as we look to create long-term value for our shareholders."
