Sanctions Waiver Secured: Serbian oil company Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS), majority-owned by Russia's Gazprom Neft, has secured a third sanctions waiver from the U.S. for two months until June 27, allowing it to continue operations amid ongoing sanctions on Russia's oil sector.
Ownership and Operations: NIS operates Serbia's only oil refinery with an annual capacity of 4.8 million tons, covering most of the country's oil needs, while Gazprom Neft owns 44.85% of NIS and Gazprom holds 11.3%, with the Serbian government owning 29.87%.
