CVS Health to Exit Infusion Services Business, Plans to Close or Sell 29 Pharmacies
CVS Health, a leading pharmacy chain, has announced its decision to exit its core infusion services business. This strategic move will involve either closing or selling 29 regional pharmacies across the United States. Shelly Bandit, CVS Health's senior manager of corporate communications, confirmed that as of October 8, the company has stopped accepting new patients for services such as antibiotics, muscular health drugs, and intravenous nutrition. The decision comes as the infusion medication sector continues to face significant challenges, particularly for highly specialized and complex services. While no layoffs have been announced yet, employees affected by this change will be informed by mid-November, with their roles expected to conclude by January.
