Matthews Engineering, a division of Matthews International, and hs-tumbler announced a cooperation to advance trajectory mixing technologies tailored for dry battery electrode, DBE, manufacturing. The joint development targets scalable powder preparation and higher calendar throughput for next-generation, DBE production systems.

Matthews (MATW) announced that, for the second time in twelve months, an arbitrator has recognized the company's right to develop, produce, market and sell its proprietary dry battery electrode, or DBE, solutions to third parties. "Matthews defeated Tesla's (TSLA) claims as the arbitrator issued an interim decision denying the broad injunctive relief requested by Tesla and rejecting Tesla's attempts to prohibit the company from selling Matthews' proprietary DBE technology and equipment. Instead, the interim decision includes a narrow injunction preventing Matthews from using certain parts in dry battery electrode machines. Matthews already has replacement parts, and thus the injunction is not expected to materially impede Matthews' operations or sales. Matthews will continue to sell DBE equipment and provide technology offerings to its customers," the company stated.

Matthews International held its 2026 Annual Meeting of Shareholders. Among the meeting's key outcomes, the Company announced the re-election of Thomas Gebhardt, Aleta Richards, David Schawk, and Francis Wlodarczyk to its Board of Directors. In addition to the re-election of Board members, amendments to Matthews' Articles of Incorporation were adopted, reflecting the Company's ongoing commitment to enhance its governance practices. Following the Annual Shareholders Meeting, the Board of Directors formally selected J. Michael Nauman to replace Alvaro Garcia-Tunon as Chairman of the Board. Nauman was first appointed to Matthews' Board of Directors in February 2025.
