Leonardo DRS is introducing a new 2 kVA AC Uninterruptible Power Supply in the company's uninterruptible power supply family of products, delivering clean, conditioned backup power to help keep mission-critical electronics online through shipboard power disturbances. The product is designed and positioned as IP54-hardened, and military-qualified-built for harsh and unforgiving operating environments. "We designed this 2 kVA UPS to be a rugged, platform-ready building block for mission-critical loads operating outside controlled spaces," said Cari Ossenfort, senior vice president, general manager at Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics business unit. "With IP54 protection, high-efficiency performance, and fully hardened reliability, it helps the U.S. Navy and its Sailors protect uptime and reduce program risk across naval, defense, and extreme applications."

Leonardo DRS integrated its Maritime Mission Equipment Package on an autonomous unmanned surface vessel, delivering a new counter-unmanned aerial system capability designed to detect, track, identify, and defeat aerial unmanned threats operating in the maritime domain. Built for rapid integration on crewed and uncrewed platforms, the solution provides a mission-ready layer of protection for ships, ports, littoral infrastructure, and expeditionary forces facing an increasingly complex drone threat environment.

DRS Systems was awarded $533.29M firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee, cost reimbursable, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the production and delivery of distributed aperture infrared countermeasure weapons replaceable assemblies and shop replaceable assemblies in the low rate initial production configurations to include a maximum of 690 Sensors, 134 Processors, 134 Laser I, 52 fiber optic cables I, and 52 FOCA II, as well as associated engineering support for the Navy and Army. Additionally, this contract provides for multi-spectral test sets, field service representatives, far field test station upgrades, and electrical equivalent test benches. Work is expected to be complete by April 2030. No funds will be obligated at the time of award; funds will be obligated on individual orders as they are issued. This contract was not competed. Naval Air Systems Command is the contracting activity.
