U.S. House Republican leadership is withdrawing from its plan to pass the American Broadband Deployment Act this week, as the GOP didn't have the votes to pass the measure amid opposition from local governments, Punchbowl News' Jake Sherman reports. Publicly traded companies in the broadband space include Comcast (CMCSA), Charter (CHTR), and Optimum Communications (OPTU).

Spectrum (CHTR) and Amazon (AMZN) announced the Spectrum TV App will launch on Amazon Fire TV devices starting on April 15, expanding the availability of the treaming app and giving customers another way to watch live Spectrum TV.

KeyBanc views AT&T's (T) launch of OneConnect, a new bundled connectively offering combining wireless with one gig of fiber, as positive for AT&T and negative for both Comcast (CMCSA) and Charter (CHTR). OneConnect is a value segment offer which should help AT&T drive convergence, the analyst tells investors in a research note. KeyBanc sees the launch as a direct "attack" on cable's core go-to market.
