After it was announced that Ford (F) will start selling certified pre-owned vehicles through Amazon (AMZN), Truist noted that this news comes on the heels of Amazon partnering with Hertz (HTZ) to offer used vehicles in August and the December 2024 launch of their partnership with Hyundai (HYMLF). The firm, which had viewed as "only a matter of time" before Amazon continued to expand its presence in the used vehicle market, believes that if the efforts start to result in notable mindshare then it could "obviously create another competitive headwind" for CarMax (KMX), which it says is already facing a "growing list of challenges." Truist has a Hold rating on CarMax, which is down about 2.5% to $33.58 in midday trading.

Samsung Electronics (SSNLF), Hyundai Motor (HYMLF), and other South Korean manufacturers revealed domestic investment plans, Reuters reports. Samsung plans to add a chip production line in the South Korean city of Pyeongtaek as part of its plan to make $310.79B investments at home over the next five years. Additionally, Hyundai Motor recently announced domestic investments worth KRW 125.2T between 2026-2030. Hanwha Ocean and HD Hyundai also unveiled their own investment plans.

At the APEC Summit, Nvidia (NVDA) announced Samsung (SSNLF), SK Group, Hyundai (HYMLF), NAVER and Korea's government will deploy 260,000 Nvidia Blackwell GPUs in order to power sovereign AI, robotics, manufacturing and digital transformation across industries. The announcement marks one of the largest national investments in agentic and physical AI to date, and it's backed by a coalition of Korea's top organizations.
