Invesco Municipal Trust (the Trust) is a closed end management investment company. The Trust’s investment objective is to provide common shareholders with a high level of current income exempt from federal income tax, consistent with preservation of capital. Under normal market conditions, at least 80% of the Trust’s total assets will be invested in municipal securities. The Trust seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing at least 80% of the Trust’s total assets in investment grade municipal securities. The Trust may invest up to 20% of its total assets in municipal securities rated below investment grade or that are unrated but determined by the adviser to be of comparable quality at the time of purchase. The Trust may invest all or a substantial portion of its total assets in municipal securities that may subject certain investors to the federal alternative minimum tax.
