Bitfarms plans U.S. redomiciliation to enhance shareholder value
Bitfarms Ltd. saw its stock price drop after crossing below the 20-day SMA, reflecting broader market weakness with the Nasdaq-100 down 1.04% and S&P 500 down 0.91%.
The company announced a strategic transition plan to redomicile from Canada to the U.S. by April 1, 2026, rebranding as Keel Infrastructure. This move aims to enhance long-term shareholder value and adapt to U.S. market demands, with the Board recommending shareholder support for the Arrangement Resolution. The redomiciliation is expected to provide expanded access to capital markets and strengthen commercial relationships, although it will not affect existing operations in Canada and the U.S.
This strategic shift could position Bitfarms for better market competitiveness, but the current stock decline indicates challenges amid a weak market environment.
