BlackRock Enhanced International Dividend Trust is a diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Trust’s investment objective is to provide current income and current gains, with a secondary objective of long-term capital appreciation. It seeks to achieve its investment objectives by investing in equity securities issued by companies of any market capitalization located in countries throughout the world and by employing a strategy of writing (selling) call and put options. It invests, under normal circumstances, at least 80% of its net assets in dividend-paying equity securities issued by non-United States companies of any market capitalization but intends to invest primarily in securities of large capitalization companies.
