IOTA's ADAPT Initiative Scheduled for Pilot Launch in 2025
ADAPT Initiative Overview: The IOTA Foundation, in partnership with AfCFTA, the Tony Blair Institute, and the World Economic Forum, is advancing the ADAPT initiative to enhance trade infrastructure across 55 African nations by 2035, aiming to unlock $70 billion in trade value and generate $23.6 billion in annual economic benefits.
Pilot Launch Plans: The ADAPT program will initiate pilots by the end of 2025 in Kenya, Ghana, and a North African country, utilizing blockchain technology for USDT-based payments and digital documentation to reduce trade clearance times from weeks to minutes.
Cost Reduction Goals: The initiative is projected to achieve a 30% reduction in trade costs, significantly boosting intra-African trade and contributing to regional economic growth, with the potential for millions of daily transactions on the IOTA blockchain.
Previous Trials and Future Potential: Past trials in Kenya and Rwanda have shown a reduction in document validation times from hours to 30 minutes, indicating the program's potential to double intra-African trade by 2035 and revolutionize cross-border commerce through blockchain technology.
