Chemomab Therapeutics announced that the results of its Phase 2 SPRING trial assessing nebokitug in patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis, PSC, were published in the current issue of the American Journal of Gastroenterology. The study showed that nebokitug was generally safe and well tolerated in patients with PSC for up to 48 weeks of treatment. Patients treated with nebokitug had numerical improvements in a range of biomarkers for inflammation and fibrosis, particularly at the 20 mg/kg dose and in the pre-specified subgroup of patients with moderate/advanced fibrosis. The authors conclude that these promising data support further evaluation of nebokitug for the treatment of PSC in a Phase 3 clinical trial.

In addition, both have agreed that a composite of clinically relevant events can be used for the study endpoint. In view of the general alignment of the two regulatory agencies and the advanced status of the Phase 3 design, we expect to launch the trial as soon as feasible."

Chemomab Therapeutics announced that abstracts that highlight new clinical data from the nebokitug Phase 2 SPRING trial in primary sclerosing cholangitis, PSC, will be presented on November 10, 2025, at the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease, AASLD, The Liver Meeting 2025. Data presented from the SPRING trial open label extension, OLE, demonstrate continued and consistent effects of nebokitug on key inflammatory and fibrotic biomarkers, further reinforcing its disease-modifying potential in PSC. Two posters will present new clinical data that provides additional insights into the macrophage-related mechanism of action of nebokitug, a first-in-class antibody that inhibits the soluble protein CCL24, a key driver of disease processes in fibro-inflammatory diseases such as PSC. These results show that nebokitug may halt or slow disease progression and improve clinical outcomes - the primary objectives of the upcoming Phase 3 study.
