H.I.G. Capital announced that one of its affiliates has signed a definitive agreement to sell its portfolio company Desktop, an internet service provider in the state of Sao Paulo, to Claro Telecom Participacoes, a subsidiary of America Movil. The closing of the transaction is subject to customary conditions precedent and approvals from the Brazilian regulatory authorities. The transaction is valued at R$4B, implying a price per share of R$20.82, based on Desktop's net debt as of September 30.

Comcel, a subsidiary of America Movil that operates as Claro in Colombia, has submitted a request to the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce for authorization to integrate strategic assets of Azteca Comunicaciones Colombia and Total Play Comunicaciones Colombia, Efren Paez Jimenez of DPL News reports. The transaction involves the acquisition of the National Fiber Optic Project Network, built with resources from the ICT Fund and spanning approximately 20,000 kilometers, as well as the ACC Network, approximately 12,000 kilometers long, both operated by Azteca Comunicaciones, a Grupo Salinas company.
