Screening Filters

1. is_index_component = GSPC

       • Neutral: mid-range
       • Oversold: RSI below ~30 (threshold can vary slightly by platform)
     • Our screener works with RSI categories rather than arbitrary numeric cutoffs (like exactly <35).
     • The closest supported condition to “RSI below 35” is the “oversold” category, which captures stocks with notably low RSI values (usually RSI ≤30–35, depending on the platform’s definition).
     • While this may not match the exact numeric level of 35, it targets the same conceptual idea: stocks that have seen significant recent selling pressure.

Why Results Match:

• The index requirement (is_index_component = GSPC) directly implements “in the S&P 500 index,” so all returned stocks are indeed S&P 500 constituents.
• The RSI requirement (rsi_category = oversold) is the closest available implementation of “RSI below 35” in this screener:
  • We do not support custom numeric RSI thresholds (e.g., <35) as a filter, only broader RSI categories.
  • The “oversold” category is specifically designed to highlight stocks with low RSI, which aligns with the user’s intent to find names with depressed momentum/price action.
