Screening Filters

1. Market Cap ≥ $2,000,000,000

   • Purpose: Focus on established, larger companies.

     • A 3%+ move filters for impactful price action, not just noise.
     • Captures names reacting to news, earnings, upgrades, or strong buying flows.
     • Aligns with traders’ and active investors’ interest in standout performers each session.

6. Exchanges: XNYS, XNAS, XASE (NYSE, NASDAQ, AMEX)

   • Purpose: Restrict to major US exchanges.
   • Rationale: “US market” is commonly understood as the main US stock exchanges:
     • Ensures stocks have standard listing, reporting, and oversight.
     • Avoids OTC/pink-sheet names, which are often less transparent, more speculative, and less suitable as mainstream “top picks.”

7. Region: United States

   • Purpose: Limit to US-listed companies fitting the user’s geographic focus.
   • Rationale: Ensures that:
     • The results align with “for the US market,” i.e., companies traded in the US jurisdiction.
     • You’re not seeing foreign exchanges or ADRs from other regions that might not match the user’s intent.

Why Results Match the User’s Request

• The filters target US-listed, reasonably large, liquid stocks, which are what most people mean by “US market” and “top picks.”
• The momentum and trend filters (Price above 20-day MA, RSI not weak, price up ≥ 3% today) identify stocks showing notable strength right now, consistent with the idea of “daily” picks.
