Screening Filters

1. RSI in the moderate range (rsi_category: moderate)

   • Purpose: Find cryptos that are neither extremely overbought nor deeply oversold.
   • Rationale: A moderate RSI suggests the asset is active and has room to continue trending without being stretched too far, which is useful for a “radar” style scan looking for tradable momentum rather than exhausted moves.

2. Positive 24-hour price change (price_change_pct_24h: min 0)

   • Purpose: Identify cryptos that are moving up on the day.
   • Rationale: Since “Crypto Radar” implies scanning for current market movers, requiring a non-negative daily change helps surface coins that are already showing strength.

3. Positive weekly price change (week_price_change_pct: min 0)

   • Purpose: Confirm that momentum is not just a one-day spike.
   • Rationale: A positive weekly move indicates broader short-term strength and helps filter out assets that may have bounced briefly but lack follow-through.

4. Turnover above monthly average dollar volume (turnover_24h > monthly_average_dollar_volume)

   • Purpose: Spot unusually active names compared with their normal trading activity.
   • Rationale: Elevated turnover suggests increased attention, participation, or possible breakout behavior. This is important for a radar screen because unusual activity often precedes larger moves.

5. 24-hour dollar volume above monthly average dollar volume (dollar_volume_24h > monthly_average_dollar_volume)

   • Purpose: Confirm that liquidity and trading interest are stronger than usual.
   • Rationale: Higher-than-average dollar volume means the move is supported by real market activity, which improves the reliability of the screen and helps avoid illiquid or noisy names.

6. Trending status enabled (is_trending: True)

   • Purpose: Restrict results to cryptos that are actively trending.
   • Rationale: For a “Crypto Radar” query, trend detection is central. This filter prioritizes coins with momentum and market attention, making the output more relevant for finding current opportunities.

Why Results Match:

• The filters collectively look for cryptos that are already moving upward, showing momentum across both daily and weekly timeframes, and trading with above-normal activity.
• By combining price strength, volume expansion, and trend confirmation, the screen is well-suited to a “Crypto Radar” use case: it highlights the most active and relevant coins rather than the entire market.
• The moderate RSI avoids names that are too overheated, helping the scan focus on assets that still have potential room to run.
