Toyota's October Production Increases for Fifth Consecutive Month Driven by Robust US Demand
Global Production Increase: Toyota's global production rose 4% in October, reaching 926,987 cars, driven by strong U.S. demand for hybrid vehicles despite weaker sales in Japan and China.
Sales Performance: Worldwide sales increased by 2% to 922,087 vehicles, marking a tenth consecutive monthly gain, with hybrids making up 42% of total sales for the first ten months of the year.
Regional Highlights: In the U.S., production surged 26%, while Japan saw a 7% increase in output but a 4% decline in sales. In China, production and sales fell by 6% and 7%, respectively, due to the end of subsidy programs.
Electric Vehicle Share: Battery electric models accounted for just under 2% of Toyota's total sales, indicating a continued reliance on hybrid technology in their vehicle lineup.
