Renault launches new budget-friendly electric Twingo to increase sales.
New Electric Twingo Launch: Renault has unveiled its new electric Twingo, priced under 20,000 euros, aiming to boost electric vehicle sales with a model reminiscent of its 1992 predecessor, set to launch in early 2026.
Development and Manufacturing: The Twingo was designed in France and developed in China, with production taking place in Slovenia, utilizing a cost-effective LFP battery from CATL and available in only four colors.
Market Context: The small car market in Europe has declined, prompting the European Commission to consider new regulations to revitalize this segment, which has seen shrinking profit margins for manufacturers.
Partnerships and Variants: Renault's alliance partner Nissan will offer a version of the Twingo, while Dacia plans to sell a variant for under 18,000 euros, expanding the model's accessibility in the market.
