Nissan and Wayve Collaborate to Incorporate AI into Future ProPILOT for Mass-Produced Cars
Nissan and Wayve Collaboration: Nissan Motor Co. and Wayve have formed a partnership to integrate Wayve's AI technology with Nissan's ProPILOT driver-assistance systems, enhancing both ADAS and advanced driving capabilities.
ProPILOT Evolution: Since its introduction in 2016, Nissan's ProPILOT has evolved from single-lane assistance to multi-lane and hands-off functionality, with the next-generation system set to incorporate Wayve's AI for improved performance.
Prototype Development: A prototype featuring Wayve's 'Wayve AI Driver' and Nissan's "Ground Truth Perception" technology was unveiled in September 2025, showcasing effective driving assistance in various environments.
Future Plans: The first mass-produced vehicle equipped with the next-generation ProPILOT is expected to launch in Japan in fiscal year 2027, aiming to enhance functionality and convenience for global markets.
