Kia Celebrates Milestone by Launching Future PBV Production Center in Korea
Kia's New PBV Facilities: Kia has completed the Hwaseong EVO Plant East and begun construction on the EVO Plant West, establishing a dedicated production hub for Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) models in South Korea.
Investment and Capacity: The company is investing approximately KRW 4 trillion in a 297,000 square-meter site, aiming for an annual production capacity of 250,000 PBV units, including 100,000 PV5 and 150,000 PV7 units.
Strategic Goals: The new facilities are part of Kia's strategy to support the global expansion of its PBV business and to foster a collaborative ecosystem through a PBV Conversion Center for co-development with partners.
Leadership Remarks: Key figures, including Kia's CEO and the Prime Minister of South Korea, emphasized the importance of innovation in future mobility, focusing on electrification and sustainable practices in the automotive industry.
